The Poverty of Protectionism and the Impact of Tariffs

A number of recent studies show that American consumers generally pay the full cost of the tariffs through higher prices, as would be expected in standard trade theory. The arguments for liberty are richer and belong to a deeper and more credible tradition than the authoritarians' arguments.
