Eagles OT Johnson: Wentz 'on a different mental state' in 2019
Carson Wentz is looking to rebound after having back-to-back campaigns end due to injury, and his right tackle believes the quarterback is well on his way to making it happen.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson joined "NFL Total Access" on Tuesday and raved about Wentz's dedication and approach to the 2019 season.
"I love it, every day when I go in the building, all I see is him in there before everybody else, rehabbing, doing whatever it takes," Johnson said, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra. "I just think he's really on a different mental state than he's ever been as far as training and ignoring distractions and really trying to be the best player he is. So, I just see that worker and a guy who is about to do some big things this season."
Wentz recently signed a four-year extension that will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2024 season. Expectations are high for 2019 with a talented Eagles roster around him.
The passer also appears to be over his back injury suffered last year, as he's been fully cleared for training camp in July.
