Andrighetto signs 2-year deal with KHL's Avangard Omsk
Sven Andrighetto is headed overseas.
The former member of the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens signed a two-year contract with Avangard Omsk of the KHL, the league confirmed Tuesday.
Andrighetto collected 17 points over 64 regular-season games with the Avalanche this past season before being held off the score sheet in five playoff contests.
The 26-year-old was initially a restricted free agent but ultimately became a UFA after Colorado decided not to tender him a qualifying offer in late June.
He spent parts of three seasons with the Avalanche, who acquired him in a trade with the Canadiens in exchange for Andreas Martinsen in March 2017.
Andrighetto played parts of three campaigns with Montreal after the Canadiens drafted him 86th overall in 2013.
