Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson reported for training camp Wednesday amid a standoff over his future with the AFC North team, general manager John Dorsey confirmed.

Johnson requested a trade away from Cleveland earlier in the offseason due to concerns about his playing time following the signing of Kareem Hunt, who's suspended for the first eight games of the season but is expected to eventually gain a significant role in the offense.

The Browns have said they want to keep Johnson as the primary backup to Nick Chubb and are unlikely to move the veteran unless they're blown away by an offer.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus - who Johnson hired July 11 to help push through a deal - apparently met with the team Tuesday to discuss his client's future.

Johnson skipped voluntary workouts but was in attendance for mandatory minicamp last month. The veteran tailback would've risked fines of $40,000 per day if he stayed away from training camp.
