Nelson retires with Packers
Jordy Nelson is hanging up his cleats as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
The receiver informed the team of his decision to retire with the Packers to officially end his 11-year career, general manager Brian Gutekunst announced Sunday.

Nelson won't sign a one-day contract, as most players do when returning to retire with a team, in order to avoid roster moves and drug tests, per Tom Silverstein of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The receiver - who announced his decision to retire in March - spent 10 years in Green Bay after being selected in the second round of the 2008 draft. He was released last offseason and spent his final professional campaign with the Oakland Raiders.
In franchise history, the 34-year-old ranks third in catches (550), second in touchdown receptions (69), and fifth in receiving yards (7,848). He is also the Packers' postseason reception leader with 54.
Nelson formed a dynamic partnership with Aaron Rodgers, which peaked in 2014 when the wideout caught 98 passes for 1,519 yards (both career highs) and 13 touchdowns.
The receiver was named to his only Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro that year.
Nelson was a huge part of the Packers team that won Super Bowl XLV in the 2010 season, as he led Green Bay over the Pittsburgh Steelers with nine catches for 140 yards and a touchdown.
He also took home the Comeback Player of the Year award in 2016 after racking up 1,257 yards and 14 scores following an ACL injury that sidelined him for the entire 2015 season.
