Report: Lions' Kearse suffers broken leg in preseason game
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jermaine Kearse sustained a broken leg during Thursday's preseason game against the New England Patriots, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Kearse, who also apparently injured his ankle, was carted off after having an air cast applied to his leg.
The eight-year veteran was attempting to hold a block on just the fifth play of the game when a Patriots defender rolled into the back of his left leg.

Kearse was the favorite to land the No. 4 receiver role behind Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay, and Danny Amendola.
With Kearse likely done for the foreseeable future, Andy Jones, Brandon Powell, Travis Fulgham, and Tommylee Lewis will fight it out for a spot on the 53-man roster.
