Cardinals' Butler fractures hand, could reportedly land on IR
Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced Tuesday that rookie wide receiver Hakeem Butler recently suffered an avulsion fracture in his hand.
"He won't play anymore in the preseason and then we'll kind of take it from there," Kingsbury told reporters, according to Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic.
Butler is reportedly a candidate for injured reserve, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The first-year wideout missed the last two practices with the injury and had recently fallen behind Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, and fellow rookie Andy Isabella in the Cardinals' wide receiver pecking order.
Butler, who many considered to be an early-round prospect, slid to Arizona in the fourth round during April's draft.
