Brady's 'Tom Terrific' trademark refused over connection to Tom Seaver
Tom Brady won't be trademarking "Tom Terrific."
The United States Patent and Trademark Office rejected the New England Patriots quarterback's application to trademark the nickname due to its association with former New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver, according to Josh Gerben of Gerben Law Firm.
Tom Brady's trademark applications for TOM TERRIFIC have been refused by the USPTO because of a "false connection" with Tom Seaver.

Brady should have withdrawn the applications after the initial public reaction to the filings.

Brady drew criticism after news of the trademark filing broke in May. He later said he only submitted the application because he doesn't like the nickname and wanted to stop others from using it in connection with him.
