The former Miami Dolphins assistant who resigned in 2017 after a video showed him snorting a white powdery substance was hired this offseason by the San Francisco 49ers, sources told ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Chris Foerster stepped down as the Dolphins' offensive line coach Oct. 9, 2017, and hadn't worked in the NFL since. The 49ers never announced his hiring, nor is he listed on the team's website, but he reportedly helps San Francisco with game-planning.

The 2017 viral video saw Foerster using a rolled-up $20 bill to snort the substance prior to a team meeting. He vowed to seek professional help for drug and alcohol addiction after surrendering his post with the Dolphins.

Foerster and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan worked together while with the Washington Redskins from 2010-13. The longtime offensive line coach also spent six seasons in Tampa Bay when 49ers general manager John Lynch played for the Buccaneers.

The 57-year-old Foerster had two previous stints coaching the 49ers' offensive line, most recently in 2015.
