How do I post a question?

After Ive typed in this box my only options are to submit a new thread or preview post.
I just want to ask a question as a Linux newbie...why is it necessary to make things complicated???
When Ive gone to gone to preview post I get the same options....do I want to start a new thread?
If I select that my question disappears into the ether....
IAl try again but this is the last time.
