Jets' Mosley, Williams to join Darnold on shelf for MNF
New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams won't be available for Monday Night Football because of injuries, the team announced.
Mosley will be sidelined with a groin injury, while Williams won't play versus the Cleveland Browns due to an ankle issue. The two will join quarterback Sam Darnold, who's suffering from mononucleosis, on the shelf.
The 27-year-old Mosley enjoyed a stellar Jets debut in Week 1, returning an interception for a touchdown and recovering a fumble against the Buffalo Bills. He inked a five-year, $85-million contract with New York in free agency after spending five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.
Williams, the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, left his first game after hurting his ankle and didn't record any stats.
The injury-riddled Jets listed running back Le'Veon Bell as questionable. Bell underwent an MRI on his shoulder after the season opener.
