Improved Libre Office

I have installed Debian 10 and the installer has installed Libre Office 6.1.5.2. This is not really a Debian question but the Libre Office forum is just about unusable and completely useless. Libre Office has been "improved" and as is not uncommon the improvements are worse than pre-improved. A formatted file saved and re-opened comes up a complete mess with entirely arbitrary paragraph margins.It can be fixed with a good deal of work and printed but when saved comes apart again.
Perhaps I should go back to Open Office.
