New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur indicated Monday that it's possible rookie Daniel Jones is the team's starting quarterback in Week 3, according to the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard.

Shurmur seemed staunch in his support for veteran Eli Manning after the Giants lost 28-14 to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He said that talk of possibly inserting Jones into the starting role "wasn't a conversation for right now."

The second-year head coach had a change of heart during Monday's press conference.

"We're gonna talk about everything moving forward," Shurmur said. "I think that's fair at this point. To this point what we've done hasn't been good enough."

Shurmur remained vague while discussing the topic, simply calling Manning "our starter so far," according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

For his part, Manning appears unfazed by the chatter.

"We're 0-2 and looking for answers, I get it," Manning told reporters on Monday. "When you draft a guy early and you're not winning games, these (questions) were going to come up."

Manning has thrown for 556 yards to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions during the Giants' 0-2 start.
