Hey fellas,
I'm new here! Here's a little about me - I'm 28 years old, and am in the middle of a significant "career" focus change. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology several years ago and went on to attend medical school for a few years. However, after a combination of personal health issues,
courseload, and some other factors, i.e., administrative corruption, etc., I realized that it wasn't for me. Truthfully, I was extremely hesitant about changing career paths initially. I always had an interest in programming and software development. I had even developed personal programs/scripts that I could use to automate various repetitive tasks while I was in high school and undergrad. I had actually debated between pursuing a degree in Biology or Computer Science a decade ago when I started undergrad. So after carefully considering my options and interests, I decided to pursue a degree in Computer Science, which I am currently in my last year. I started using Linux around three years ago. I built a Hackintosh desktop computer about two years ago and am now using it to quad boot Ubuntu, Arch Linux, Mac OS High Sierra, and Windows 10 Pro. I also have tinkered quite a bit with single board devices like the Raspberry Pi (Zero W, Pi 3b and 3b+), and have run Raspbian, Ubuntu Mate, etc. on them. I'm currently in the process of re-setting up Pi-hole on my Pi 3b and 3b+ devices. I hope that I will be able to learn from and contribute to this community. :) Thanks for having me!
