Transmission question

I have used Transmission as supplied in various Linux distros for quite a while. To day I apparently did something to (or do not understand something about) Transmission on a CentOS 7 machine. Typically I can right click on a torrent or torrents and "Ask Tracker for More Peers." This will sometimes get a sluggish torrent going. The option is now grayed out. I have done some searching but have not found any answers. I looked at my Preferences and do not see anything which looks different from what I have used for a long time. Any ideas?
