49ers' Shanahan: 'Good chance' Coleman returns in Week 5
The San Francisco 49ers could get their prized offensive offseason addition back in the lineup sooner than later.
Tevin Coleman might return for the team's Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns following the Niners' Week 4 bye.
"I think he's got a good chance to come back next week," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday. "He was just jogging and moving pretty well last week, just watching him on the side. He won't be out there tomorrow but hopefully, we'll get him in practice here next Monday."
Coleman logged just six carries for 23 yards in the club's season opener before leaving with a high ankle sprain.
In his absence, the 49ers have gone with a committee approach involving Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida, and Jeff Wilson Jr. Through three games ahead of play Monday night, San Francisco ranks fourth in rushing, averaging 175 yards per game.
