dvdrip : Looking for easy to follow instructions

I am trying to make an archival copy of a copy protected DVD. I understand that dvd::rip can do the job, but all of the documentation and on-line resources that I've seen have been extremely difficult to understand. I'm looking for a link to a easy to follow step-by-step guide to using dvd::rip to create a usable clone of a copy protected DVD. (I have been able to rip the DVD to my HDD successfully)
