Jalen Ramsey will be absent from the Jacksonville Jaguars for the birth of his second child and "return to the team when he's ready," head coach Doug Marrone announced Wednesday.

The star cornerback asked for a trade away from Jacksonville following a "disrespectful" conversation he had with the team's decision-makers. While the Jaguars initially appeared ready to grant his request, they are reportedly now trying to repair the relationship with him.
Ramsey's departure caps an eventful week for the former first-round pick.
The 24-year-old missed Monday's practice with an illness, which he believed was the flu. Then, he was sidelined from Wednesday's session due to a back injury he suffered in last week's win over the Tennessee Titans.
Ramsey has reportedly been subject to much interest around the league, with virtually every team contacting the Jaguars about a potential deal.
Six clubs - the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks - have all apparently made substantive inquiries.
Ramsey is widely viewed as one of the NFL's premier cornerbacks. He made the Pro Bowl in the last two seasons and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2017.
