Using M.2 cards
by Raevyn from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4RBB5)
Hello!
I am looking at this Asus addon card that holds 4 M.2 SSD drives and can RAID them together, but I have a couple of questions. First off, can Linux actually use it as a raid volume? Can I get two addon cards to effectively use 8 M.2 cards in RAID1? And also, if I use those addon cards, am I still able to use the slot built on the motherboard itself? I was thinking of having a Pro drive for that mobo slot that holds the OS and apps, then using two of the asus addon cards to make 8tb of storage RAIDed (1) together. I would have plenty of PCI slot space to do that.
