I have been using firefox for a accessing several websites that require Java to function properly but the firefox doesn't detect the Symbolic link in '~/Mozilla/plugins/'.

I had installed the latest jre8 using a jre-8u221-linux-x64.tar.gz file system wide using root; is this why firefox is unable to detect the plugin as as user installed program lacks the permission to access a root file in '/usr/local/jre1.8.0_221'.
or is the plugins file directory where i created the symbolic link wrong as there are other tutorials that suggest using '/usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins' as the directory for creating the Symbolic links or should the symbolic link be inserted in either of these locations '/.mozilla/plugins ` and '/usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins'
is there any other plugins directory where i should make the symbolic link . am i doing something wrong here. The FireFox Version i am using is 69.0.1 64bit. Any suggestions would be helpful.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=5ZXW-whEDTE:hUotIVz-sv8:F7zBnMy latest?i=5ZXW-whEDTE:hUotIVz-sv8:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=5ZXW-whEDTE:hUotIVz-sv8:gIN9vFw5ZXW-whEDTE
