The Los Angeles Chargers were stunned by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, and quarterback Philip Rivers appeared to lose his cool after throwing his second interception of the game to seal the 24-17 loss.

Rivers grabbed Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton by the shoulder pads, which led to a brief scuffle between the two teams. After the defeat, Rivers said he was responding to Hilton waving to the Chargers' sideline.

"I was disappointed the game was over," Rivers said, according to Penn Live's Jacob Klinger. "I wasn't frustrated. A guy comes and waves at our sideline, you protect your team. It was really no big deal. I haven't seen him (since), but I'd probably shake his hand and tell him, 'Sorry, I got a little fired up.' But it wasn't a big deal.

"There was no screaming and yelling. It was just defending our guys."

The upset by the Steelers, who were playing third-string quarterback Devlin Hodges, dropped the Chargers to 2-4 and the bottom of the AFC West.
