Upgrading the wireless card on a Panasonic Toughbook series laptop

Hello all,
I have two older version Panasonic Toughbook laptops with Intel Core 2 Duo processors. One of them is a Make1 and the other is Make2. The Make1 came with an Intel 4965G wireless card and I want to upgrade it to a Wireless-N card. I installed an Intel Wifi 5100 Wireless-N card but it didn't pick it up, that is, even though the wireless switch was on and I was able to see the new wireless card in the Device manager, I got the message that the wireless is turned off.
I was wondering if I install an Intel 4965GN wireless-N card, would it work? Anyone had any experience with it? The best thing to do is to try of course, but I was wondering if anyone ever tried it..
