Reid: 'It would be a stretch' for Mahomes to play in Week 8
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is refusing to put a timeline on Patrick Mahomes' recovery.
It was reported Sunday that the Chiefs quarterback could return from a dislocated kneecap within three weeks, but all Reid would say Monday is "it would be a stretch" for Mahomes to play this week against the Green Bay Packers, according to Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star.
"All these guys are different. I don't think you can put a timeline on it," Reid added.
Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder provided an update on Mahomes' injury Monday.
"We had X-rays at the game that came back negative. Did an MRI (on) Friday here at the facility and that turned out as good as we could possibly imagine," he said, according to BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site.
"He's worked all weekend here, he's done rehabilitation, extensive pool therapy here at the complex, has done some stuff in the athletic training room, and is progressing nicely."
