Kmail2: how to convert mbox format email to maildir format

This is merely a question, I do not have any sort of problem.... yet...
1: Using Debian Testing (Bullseye)
2: Using KDE with kmail2
3: Old format uses mbox email format
4: kmail2 uses maildir email format
Suppose I wanted to "convert" bunch of mbox email to maildir format, and there is no conversion utility I can find via duckduckgo or within the KDE website.
Idle thought: Could I set up a mailserver on my computer and "pump" all the mbox emails through kmail?
Or is that way too busy.
