The New England Patriots traded defensive end Michael Bennett to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, according to David Helman of DallasCowboys.com.

Dallas sent New England a 2021 seventh-round pick for Bennett, which could become a sixth-rounder, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jordan Schultz.

The 33-year-old is set to undergo a physical Friday to make the move official, according to Helman.

Bennett was recently suspended by New England for one game after he reportedly voiced his unhappiness with a reduced role. He later said he'd had a "philosophical disagreement" with his position coach.

The three-time Pro Bowler joins a defensive line that already boasts DeMarcus Lawrence and Robert Quinn.

Bennett has been one of the league's most consistent pass-rushers over the past seven seasons.

The defensive end was a key part of the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl-winning team in the 2013 season. He racked up 39 sacks in five seasons with the NFC West club.

Bennett's move to Dallas is his third trade in the last year and a half. Seattle shipped him to the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2018, and the Eagles traded him to the Patriots in March of this year.
