Keenum suffers concussion vs. Vikings, Haskins finishes game at QB

Washington Redskins quarterback Case Keenum suffered a concussion in the second quarter against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Keenum appeared to injure himself on a sack late in the first half when he was taken down by Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph.

First-round rookie Dwayne Haskins replaced Keenum at quarterback to begin the second half, making his second appearance of the season. The rookie finished 3 of 5 for 33 yards with one interception and two sacks.

Haskins' NFL debut came after Keenum was benched in Washington's Week 4 loss to the New York Giants. He also struggled in that appearance, throwing three interceptions and taking two sacks.

The Redskins turned to Colt McCoy as their starter in Week 5 instead of giving Haskins his first career start. Head coach Jay Gruden was fired the following day.

Following the loss Thursday night, interim head coach Bill Callahan said Keenum would remain the team's starter next week if healthy, according to Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post.
