Just another new guy wanting to make the switch to Linux

Hello everyone.
Like the title says I'm looking to make the switch to Linux. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions and will need much guidance and "coaching" in the process. Forums are nothing new to me as I post in quite a few.
Tech wise, I'm a bit of a dinosaur as I didn't grow up with computers and see them more as a tool and "communication device". In fact, I'm pretty much the only one at home that still uses the laptop as my wife and kids all use their phones or tablets. Not a luddite by any means, just way behind on the learning curve.
I'm looking forward to learning and for me that means doing the research first. Plan the work and work the plan. Wish me luck.
