Londoners Try to Properly Pronounce German Words
Language company Busuu sent an expert in the German language around the streets of London to ask the locals to try their hand at properly pronouncing rather long and difficult words. Included in this list were such words as eichhirnchen (squirrel), britchen (bread roll), mehrwertsteuer (value added tax), rechtschreibung (spelling), and Streichholzschichtelchen (little box of matches). Easier said (or not) than done.
We went to the streets of London to test people on the hardest German words to pronounce. One of the hardest things known to language learners is German pronunciation and it can sound funny to non-natives.
