Report: Steelers, Tomlin fined for not disclosing Big Ben's injury
The NFL fined the Pittsburgh Steelers $75,000 and head coach Mike Tomlin $25,000 for violating the league's injury report policy, ESPN's Brooke Pryor reports.
Pittsburgh did not accurately list quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on the injury report ahead of its Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks. He didn't practice the Wednesday of that week, but the team stated it wasn't injury-related. He practiced fully Thursday and Friday.
Roethlisberger left the game with an elbow injury, one that teammates admitted they learned of prior to the contest.
"Really, the first I heard of it was this past week. I guess right after the New England game (in Week 1), expressing some pain, but that was the first I have heard," backup quarterback Mason Rudolph said at the time.
