The Dallas Cowboys and Amari Cooper have yet to reach a deal on an extension and, at the midway point of the season, it's becoming increasingly likely that an agreement won't be reached until after the campaign.

"I'd prefer to wait until after the season," Cooper said, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Cooper's in the final year of his rookie contract and will earn $13 million.

The Cowboys have said they intend to extend their top receiving threat but are up against the salary cap and still have to reach new deals with quarterback Dak Prescott and corner Byron Jones.

Cooper has amassed 621 receiving yards and five touchdowns this season, which both rank inside the top 10 in the league.
