Lightweight LFS

Hello everyone.
I've got an assingment to make the most lightweight and fastest linux distro which includes SSH and networking. I'm investigating and trying to install LFS. I'm following the official LFS guide. My question is, do I need to install all the tools listed in part 5 and 6? I want an lightweight and fast distro so installing stuff I don't need doesnt do me any good. Have anyone else fully followed the guide and installed LFS? If so, how much space the .iso image takes with all the tools?
