Invalid magic number when creating a mint 19.2 USB boot
by Lerouxphx from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4TJXW)
I was using Linux Mint Cinnamon 17 installed as a dual boot along with Windows 10.
I decided to get rid of Windows all together since I don't use it anymore and I need to allow more memory to Cinnamon who sends me a warning for having low space available.
I created a USB boot with Cinnamon 19.2 and I was hoping to install it and change the memory allocation.
The boot sees the USB key and asks if I want to start with Cinnamon 19.2, but as soon as I hit enter I get :
- error: invalid magic number
- error: you need to load the kernel first
If I use my previous USB key (with Cinnamon 17) it works fine.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Frederic
