Can't open Virtual Box VMs created in Windows in Linux

Hi,
I have a Windows 7 VM (Guest) created in Windows 10 (Host)using Virtualbox. But when I tried to open this particular Windows 7 VM in Linux Mint it just spewed up a lot of errors regarding UEIF. So I'm wondering that are VMs cross-compatible across different host OS?
