files on separate data drive not changeable despite 755 permissions
by cad-guy from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4TYQS)
Hello;
I hope that this post isn't too much like other file permissions questions.
Currently I have a computer with 2 hard drives and linux running on an SD card (parrot linux). My 1Tb data drive does not give write access despite my attempting chmod and chown for the whole system using 'sudo su'.
Included below is the display from terminal of a few folders:
a"[root@parrot]a"[/media/bikejunkie/1Tb-drive/electrical]
a""a"a"a1/4 #ls -l
total 39093
-rwxrwxrwx 1 bikejunkie bikejunkie 742 Feb 21 2017 advice-elec_gen-pwd-light.txt
-rwxrwxrwx 1 bikejunkie bikejunkie 16914857 Sep 30 2014 'Electronics - Circuits and Systems
Whether you have a solution or not, even if you have a search term that I could research on DuckDuckGo that would help me enormously.
Thank you
Aaron
