Adding FreeIPA NFS mount on AD authenticated server
by andhauer from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4V6T8)
Hello so I am wondering if this is a possibility. I have a Linux server, hostname: Apollo that authenticates on my company domain using sssd. One of the users wants me to mount a local disk on ServerA so he can access it from Apollo.
The big problem is that ServerA uses Free IPA... kind of a unique situation. This was apparently set up as a student project years back and it blew up into a full production system so he has deep hooks into it.. cannot really get rid of it and all of his data is on ServerA, owned by his Free IPA account.
So I do not know how to approach this. Is it even possible? I would assume that I am going to run into problems with his UID but that is the extent of my knowldedge on the Linux subject... on Apollo he is bob.smith and ServerA his account is bsmith... two completely different authentication systems...he needs to be able to transfer data back and forth seamlessly. If anyone has done this or can point me to any resources I would appreciate the help with it.
