terminal will not allow entries
by Bridterry from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4V7DJ)
I am using Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)on a laptop I have just switched from Windows. It is a clean install i.e. no dual use with Windows.
I am trying to install Kodi using article from kodi.Wiki
I start the sudo commands and get to stage where I am warned about using Administrator
When I go to next line asking for password I cannot type in password using laptop or on-screen keyboards. The input icon? is solid black. I have noticed whilst trying some links that it will turn to hollow rectangle and flash. However when I return terminal screen it reverts to solid black
I have tried setting up a new user account to be 100% sure about passwords but to no avail.
I have not yet tried adding another application that requires terminal so I do not know if overall problem or just kodi.
Any ideas?
Thanks
