EFI Installation on Macbook Air

Good day,
I recently installed Ubuntu version 18+ on an external hard drive using my MacBook pro. Now, the installation can only work on the MacBook Pro and I have to need to run the Ubuntu installation using another computer. Please kindly help in explaining how i can install the EFI boot loader on the MacBook Air?
