Daniel replaces Trubisky on SNF, Bears say QB suffered hip injury

Chase Daniel replaced Mitchell Trubisky as the Chicago Bears' quarterback in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.

Trubisky exited the game down 17-7 late in the game. Chicago announced that he suffered a hip injury.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy insisted that his quarterback landed on his hip earlier in the game and played through it, adding he would've taken him out even if the score was closer, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

"It was all based off (Trubisky not) feeling right," the coach told reporters following the loss. "His hip was hurting him. We knew a few series earlier.

"I appreciate Mitch's toughness," Nagy continued. "The kid did not want to come out."

Trubisky said the injury occurred late in the second quarter and his hip tightened up as the game progressed, according to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.

Broadcast cameras caught Nagy apparently consoling the 25-year-old on the sideline.

Coming off arguably his best game of the season last week against the Detroit Lions, Trubisky completed 24 of 43 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Rams.
