Gronk's big announcement: Super Bowl beach party, not NFL return
Rob Gronkowski plans to be in Miami for Super Bowl weekend, but he won't be playing in the big game.
The retired tight end announced Tuesday that he'll be hosting a beach party music festival featuring Diplo, Kaskade, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, and 3LAU.
"We're going to be world champs again, but this time, of partying. It's going to be the biggest rager Miami has ever seen," Gronk said in a video he shared on Instagram.
Many people, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, held out hope the four-time All-Pro would make a late-season return for the Patriots' playoff run.
However, Gronkowski has maintained all year he has no plans to return to the gridiron in the near future, though he continues to leave the door ajar for a potential comeback.
"I wouldn't say 'never coming back,'" Gronkowski told ESPN's Mike Reiss on Tuesday. "I'm 30 years old. I'm young. I still stay fit, still watch the game whenever I can, still enjoy it. I'm feeling good but, you know, one year off could possibly be the case. Or maybe two years off, man.
"It's always an option in the back of my head. It's not like I'm not staying in shape and not doing anything. I'm never stressed over it."
