How do you move between programs inside of a Virtual Box?

Hiya,
Just to be clear: not Guest to Host, but Host to Host. Meaning, If I'm using program "A" and need to switch to program "B" inside the confines of a Virtual Box, how do you do that? (Both programs are already up and running.)
I've tried the ALT-Tab key combination. It had no effect on manipulating the Linux programs inside of the VB. Works for Windows though...:(
