Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has been cleared to start Sunday against the New York Giants after the team didn't list him on Friday's injury report.

Trubisky was dealing with a right hip pointer but was able to practice in full all week.

The struggling third-year quarterback was pulled from the final minutes of Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams for backup Chase Daniel.

It was initially thought Trubisky had been benched, but Bears head coach Matt Nagy revealed after the loss that the signal-caller was hurt on a sack near the end of the second quarter.

"Every decision that was made, it had zero to do with his play," Nagy said. "It was completely based off his injury and where he was at."

Coming off a solid sophomore season, Trubisky has regressed in 2019. The former second overall pick is 29th out of 33 quarterbacks in ESPN's QBR metric, is averaging 175.5 passing yards per game, and has thrown just nine touchdowns in nine games.
