Linux logging
by KrazyKanuk from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4VJV2)
It has been years since I have run any flavor of linux (probably about 10) I always seem to default to Slackware. Last time I had it up I believe I used a different logging system other then what is installed when you setup Slackware.I can`t remember the reason or thought process behind it though.
My question is would the default logging be good enough or would i be wise to switch to syslog-ng or other logging system that has come along in past 10 years. The install is a dedicated computer with single boot to Slackware only used on Lan for storage ftp/ssh into it and so on. I do this instead of getting involved in any type of gaming etc.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreceated. Thank You in advance
