The Washington Redskins have had a change of heart.

Cornerback Josh Norman is active for the team's Week 12 matchup against the Detroit Lions, the club announced.

Earlier Sunday, it was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Norman was set to be made a healthy scratch for Washington's contest against Detroit. However, the team later changed its mind, according to Schefter.

Instead, cornerback Aaron Colvin has been listed as inactive for Sunday's matchup.

Norman has struggled this season, prompting criticism from Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Manusky on Friday.

"We're putting him in situations to make some plays, and we're just not making the plays," Manusky said, according to ESPN's John Keim.

Norman has posted one interception, one forced fumble, and six passes defended through nine games with the Redskins this season.

Prior to the trade deadline, Washington reportedly tried to deal the former Pro Bowler.

Norman has one year left on his five-year, $75-million deal.
