Can't install Mint 19.2 on Toshiba c855d s5103
by MikRose from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4VRVB)
Just got a new HD identical to default on this laptop. Booting from Mint 19.2 verified CD I get a message that says,
"0.004000] do_IRQ: 1.55 No irq handler for vector
Problem loading UEFI:db x.509 certificate (-65)"
I've tried with Secure Boot enabled and disabled.
This older computer was a gift from an elderly friend when she couldn't use it anymore, I'd like to put Mint on it and sell it so she has a little cash for Christmas!
It had been updated from 8 to 8.1, I used Windows Media Creator and installed Win 10, but it had a few issues so tried to restore using Recovery, but no able to. The message said the disk could not be used unless OEM reinstalled ($40 from Toshiba). I ordered the new hard drive (used) and it checked out OK. Now that it's installed, running into this problem. This is one of the same problems I had when trying to install Mint to the old drive.
I use Mac for websites, Windows to help others, and Linux as go-to! Have looked for this issue and most answers refer to Secure Boot...any other ideas?
