Report: Josh Shaw made parlay bet on Cardinals game
Last week's betting-related suspension of Arizona Cardinals defensive back Josh Shaw stemmed from a three-team parlay bet he made that included the Cardinals, ESPN's David Purdum reports, citing multiple sources.
Shaw reportedly made his bet Sunday, Nov. 10 at a Caesars sportsbook in Las Vegas. Shaw bet on three Week 10 games, including the Cardinals' tilt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs, who were up 17-13 on Arizona at halftime, didn't cover the second-half spread and Shaw's bet lost, sources told Purdum.
NFL employees are prohibited from gambling on games, but Shaw reportedly listed "professional football player" as his occupation when opening his betting account.
Shaw has been suspended through at least 2020 for betting on NFL games. He signed with the Cardinals in March and has been on injured reserve since the preseason.
