Slackware -current: Firefox 68.3.0 - Chose user profile

Is anybody else being bugged by Firefox to chose a user profile every time that Firefox is started? Even selecting 'Use the selected profile without prompting' option makes no difference...
I have seen a grumbling bug documented online with the paths in installs.ini and profiles.ini that can lead to this but I have been unable to massage these files to fix the issue.
