2 Bay 3.5" Storage Enclosure question
by iammike2 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4W7HP)
Guys,
2 questions please if I may.
I have connected an Enclosure Box with a 3.5" 1 TB HDD to my PI, but that one is getting full already. (Yeah I should have gone bigger but stupidly enough I didn't  )
The PI sees this disk as SDA1.
Now, what if I buy a 2 BAY Enclosure Box (with external Power) and connect that one to the PI. would the disks in there then show up as SDA2 & SDA3? (or SDA1 & SDA2 if remove the 1 TB one?)
And how easy/difficult is it to make a RAID-1 set of those 2 Discs?
My guess is that it would be software raid as the enclosure box doesn't have (it looks like it) it's own raid controller. Or should I invest in a BOX with it's own embedded Raid Controller?
Thx again, really appreciated
