How to use authselect on CENTOS 8

Question:
I having trouble understanding how to use "authselect" on CENTOS 8. I've read the documentation several time trying to understand how to establish/active LDAP using and Synology NAS. I've defined the "USERID" and "Password" on the Synology NAS.
My problem is how do I define the "USERID" and "Password" using "authselect"? I've read the documentation explaining "sssd", "winbind" and "nis" However, I'm not sure what my command line structure should like to accomplish a connection.

Could I be missing the something regarding how to define the "USERID" and "Password". In the documentation it discusses the contents of the file "/etc/pam.d/system-auth-file". Should I place the necessary entries in this file?
Can someone help me work thru my issue?
