Le'Veon Bell went bowling in New Jersey on Saturday after he was ruled out by the New York Jets for Week 14 because of the flu, sources told the New York Post's Brian Costello and Ryan Dunleavy.

Bell was reportedly at Boonton Lanes from around 10:30 p.m. until nearly 1 a.m. when the alley closed.

The running back missed practice Thursday and Friday before being declared out Saturday afternoon. Jets head coach Adam Gase sent him home Friday to ensure other players wouldn't contract the bug.

Gase told reporters Tuesday that Bell won't be disciplined, but said he would have preferred if his lead running back had stayed home, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Bell is winding down a disappointing debut campaign in New York, as the 27-year-old is averaging a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. He signed a four-year contract worth $52.5 million with the Jets in the offseason.
