SSH upgrade from OpenSSH_5.3p1 to 8.1

Still running the default OpenSSH that came with RH 6.10.
What the benefits of upgrading to 8.1 that just got released?
I have a lot of clients connecting from their SSH versions, and I think they are all running RH 6.9/10 with OpenSSH v5.3.
I assume 5.3 will have no issues connecting to 8.1?
